with the exit of battles' frontman, this album has without doubt become more dull. throughout "gloss drop", what i mostly hear is sounds and more sounds. singing comes only once in a while in the form of featured guests. this album of sounds gets quite boring unfortunately. a far cry from "mirrored" (4.65).
