TV On The Radio – Nine Types Of Light:
45/10 = 4.50

r.i.p gerard smith (bassist of tv on the radio, who died yesterday)

their ability to combine art rock with a stint of funk is at its worst, overwhelming, but not bad. it's a little boring, but never bores you in the "it sucks" kind of way. instead it's more like the abstract art kind of bore. one that you like even though you know you wouldn't enjoy. ocassionally something out of the normal frequency comes about, and it captures your attention, like "will do", "new cannonball run" and "caffeinated consciousness". overall it's an album worth listening even if you might drift away for a moment.

Lykke Li – Wounded Rhymes:
44.5/10 = 4.45

more raw, more retro, more indie. lykke li's (pronounced lu-ka-lee) new album brings us back to a more basic her, but not losing her crispy voice. wounded rhymes is not an album of hits, but it's definetely an album of interest and great indie pop. a worthy follow up to youth novels.
