4.29its probably their worst offering to date. it's not bad but not as good as the previous albums. not as funky as their first two album, not as cool as their 3rd album. i just can't say much about this album.

3.82surprisingly, this wasn't the mess it turned out to be. most of the rest of the tracks are different from the obnoxious singles. there was also quite an obvious britney influence, in 2 of the songs, "government hooker" (the same mechanical dripping sound as britney's "gimme more") and "schiße" (the lyrics of "gimme more", about permissions and stuff). this album as a whole is still on the soft side of dance pop, and not of any monstrously abnormal her shouting her way through like i expected. still obviously not the best album of the decade like she proclaimed it to be, but above average for current pop standards. she still has much work to do on her album cover. this is the worst album cover ever released since adam lambert's for your entertainment, or maybe even worse.

3.63with the exit of battles' frontman, this album has without doubt become more dull. throughout "gloss drop", what i mostly hear is sounds and more sounds. singing comes only once in a while in the form of featured guests. this album of sounds gets quite boring unfortunately. a far cry from "mirrored" (4.65).

finally decided to do such a section, so adding in my past week's song reviews too.
lady gaga - the edge of glorylady gaga becomes more abnormal by being more normal on this song, unlike the demonic "born this way" (4.5/5) and "judas" (4/5). the chorus totally sounded like a dance version of "my life would suck without you, while a saxophone solo was incorporated 3/4 way through, possibly to give it an 80s feel? it's probably a slight return of form after the underwhelming lead single and even more disappointing second single. but with first few singles being of such low standards, i don't believe the album can be as good as it's hyped to be.

4.5/5
arctic monkeys - don't sit down 'cause i've moved your chairit's just not the same anymore. no longer the psychedelica i like. but it's not bad.
rating:
4/5
lady antebellum - just a kissthis is undoubtedly lady antebellum's move to repeat the success of "need you now". my decree is that it will succeed, but not to the same extent. although this is neither as catchy nor emotional as "need you now", it is still the kind of song that will make people realise they haven't listened to ballads in a long long time admist all the hoo haa about lady gaga and other electropop artists.
reting:
5/5
beyonce - run the world (girls)what the hell was she thinking? this song is of such unconventional catchiness. she must have been inspired by her own "video phone" when making this song. it's not a likely song i would listen to for leisure nor for dancing. it's just tribally odd to me.
